Protected personal data

If you have protected personal data, you may visit any health centre you wish.

Those who have moved

If you move, you will be assigned to the health centre responsible for care in your new area. If you want a different health centre, you need to choose one yourself.

If you have previously chosen a health centre, you will keep it even if you move.

Newborns and children under 16

When you have a baby, you choose a health centre for your child. If you do not choose one, the child will be registered at the same health centre as the mother or the person responsible for the child.

You can change your child’s health centre until they turn 16.

What applies during your visit?

When you visit a health centre, you pay a fee for your appointment. This is called a patient fee.

The fee is consistent across all health centres.

Patient travel

If you have chosen the health centre closest to your home, you can receive travel compensation from Region Västerbotten.

If you've selected a different health centre, you must pay for your travel yourself.

Primary care contact and contact to a primary physician

You can receive help and support in your healthcare interactions. This is known as having a primary care contact, fast vårdkontakt. This is a person at the health centre who can, for instance, help you stay in touch with other care services involved in your treatment.

You may also have a doctor you regularly see. This is called having contact to a primary care physician, fast läkarkontakt.
