General questions

Can I call 1177 and schedule an appointment for testing?

No, you need to follow the instructions. More information can be found on this page.

I live in a different region, but I am visiting Stockholm, can I get tested here?

No, you need to contact your home region. 

What do I do if I have no BankID, personal identity number or a protected identity?

If you are a citizen in Stockholm County, but do not have BankID, a personal identity number or your identity is protected, you can contact your health centre for help (the link shows a map and information in Swedish).

What do I do if my identity is protected or if I do not have a personal identity number?

How do I get my test results?

The method of delivering your test results depend on which test you have taken. More information here.

Do I need to share my results with my employer?

No, you do not have to share your test results. If you are home sick-listed, you need to have a dialogue with your manager according to your procedures regarding when you can return to work.

Questions regarding testing when you have symptoms

I have symptoms that could be due to Covid-19, but I am not ill enough to need care; do I need to get tested?

No, you do not need to get tested. However, you must be careful not to expose others to the risk of infection. Stay home and adhere to the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Sweden. Do not hesitate to seek care if you suddenly start to feel worse.

I cannot use the Alltid Öppet app, what do I do?

If you do not have the technical capacity to use the Alltid Öppet app, you can call your health centre. The health centre will then assess which test you need to take and help you order the test once you have logged in to

If you cannot use the Alltid Öppet app or, contact your health centre via telephone – they can help you with both referrals and appointments.

I have ordered a home test. How long does it take before I get it?

Due to the high case load, the delivery time is longer. You will receive a text message the same day as the delivery with contact information for the transporter.

How do I know that my order has been sent and the test is on the way?

When you log in to, you can see the status of your order. If it says “Packas”, the home test is on its way.

I forgot to scan the QR code on the home test, what now?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to register your test to you after sending it. Wait for three days, and then log in to again to order a new test.

I have chosen to go to a mobile testing station but I forgot to make an appointment, what do I do?

Go to using this link and schedule your appointment for the order you have already sent.

I have received an appointment with a testing station – do I have to go there by car?

Yes. The car is a closed location for testing without risk of infection. If you have symptoms of suspected Covid-19, you must under no circumstances take public transport to a testing station.

I have ordered a home test but has not received it yet. My case in Alltid Öppet is closed – what do I do now?

You can follow your order on even if your case is closed. To see the status, click on your order (Testing for Covid-19) The results will then be sent via text message and/or e-mail from

What about children and young people? 

If your child is younger than 13 years, you cannot order a home testing kit. Instead, you can schedule an appointment for testing at a mobile testing station. You must be the representative for your child, both in the Alltid Öppet app and at – find out more here.

If your child is over the age of 13, they need their own BankID, to schedule their own testing at a mobile testing station or to order an at-home test.

You can also contact your health centre to be referred to a testing location where you can get tested.

I have taken a test for ongoing infection and I am waiting for results; how many days does it take?

Results are shared on weekdays. The results usually come within a week, but it may take longer depending on the number of samples taken within the health service. You will receive a text message when your results are available and you log in to to view them. You need BankID to log in.

I need a certificate of health for Covid-19 for a trip, what do I do?

This type of certificate is not included in Region Stockholm’s offer of testing. We do not test healthy individuals. You can find a private clinic, in which case you need to pay for the test yourself.

I am visiting Stockholm County and having symptoms that match those of Covid-19, can I get tested?

If you can, get home safely to avoid contagion, if not, contact a local health centre for advice.

Do not hesitate to seek care if you start to feel worse, call 1177 for advice. If you are urgently ill, call 112.

Questions regarding antibody testing when you have no symptoms

Can I take an antibody test at my health centre?

No, the testing is not carried out at the health centres, but at Werlabs testing facilities in City and Kista and at 80 local laboratories across the region.

I cannot find any appointments. When do new ones become available?

Appointments are made available continuously. The demand is extremely high, and we are working to set up testing appointments for antibody tests while we must ensure that patients who are ill are always prioritised for testing.

Are there any drop-in appointments?

No, all antibody tests for Covid-19 need to be scheduled in advance. Especially when it comes to laboratory appointments, as their regular operations continue in parallel and scheduling ensures that there are never too many people in the waiting room.

I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment, what do I do?

You can do this if you have scheduled your appointment via the e-services of 1177 Vårdguiden. In the confirmation that you received via e-mail or text message when your booking was completed, there is a link named “Change booking”. Click on the link to cancel or change your appointment. 

Why do you not test children for antibodies?

Children are not tested for antibodies unless it is not deemed medically necessary. The reason is that children do not develop antibodies to the same extent as adults do, which makes their test results too uncertain.

I was tested for antibodies a week ago, when will I receive my results?

Results for antibodies are usually sent within a week, but there is presently a longer wait as we are dealing with very large test volumes.
